Chinese legend about origin of Tibetian Spaniel

A long time ago a lion king fell in love with a little monkey and he wanted to marry

her. For this marriage it was necessary a permission from Ah Chu, the animal

protector. Ah Chu gave the permission under one condition: the lion has to sacrifice

all power and greatness to his love. He agreed and gave his heart to the little monkey

forever. From this marvelous marriage was born a lion dog. It has a penetrating look

and deep eyes with human look after the monkey, gentle dignity and beautiful mane

it inherited from the lion.
